Younge and Dundas Square Is The Place To Be Tonight! (June 19th 2015)

If you love Indie Music, you're going to want to be smack dab right in the middle of it at Younge and Dundas Square tonight. Two very notable acts, The Born Ruffians, and Hollerado will be playing this Friday June 19th! The names should sound familiar, but if they don't, their songs most certainly will. Their tunes are played daily on radio stations around the city like 102.1 The Edge, and 88.1 Indie88. This is going to be a fun party to remember. There are two opening acts starting at 6:30. The Born Ruffians go on from 8:30 - 9:30. Hollerado goes on from 9:30 - 10:30. It is going to be packed, so get there with plenty of time to spare! See you there!!!   Born Ruffians Toronto's Born Ruffians have built up quite the career over the last 11 years. It's been time spent on the road sharing stages with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, Caribou, and more in the who's who of indie rock, as well as in the studio – the band's last album, 2013's 'Birthmarks', picking up lots of critical acclaim and earning them (even more of) a devoted following. SPIN said of the album: "While just as vigorous as their earliest work, it's more polished and streamlined and considered than anything they've shared to date." The record also earned the band an ever-so-slightly delayed JUNO nomination for breakthrough group of the year. Now and ahead of the release of their highly anticipated fourth album, expect to hear the favourites from their back catalogue – as well as plenty of new material – during their set at Yonge Dundas Square. via nxne.com   BORN RUFFIANS     You'd have a hard time denying Hollerado's ambition. The band did, after all, recently release '111 Songs' – a collection of tracks wholly indicative of their lofty enthusiasm. They spent two years penning and recording over five-hours of new music with custom songs for lucky fans that pre-ordered a special bundle of 2013's 'White Paint'. Unfortunately Hollerado is going to have a heck of a time with setlist choices and they'll inevitably have to cut down on some of the 111 offerings for their Yonge Dundas Square headlining show. Fear not though: the four-piece is no stranger to the NXNE stage and their live reputation has been proven to cheer even the grumpiest of people up (that might even be a scientific fact.) Come see a party on the stage. via nxne.com
